The Church right in front of the family house....and the bands backdrop.

My grandfather is the Rios.

After a great time in Guadalajara, we drove about 45minutes East (ata least i THINK WE WENT EAST?) to set up camp for the next 8 days....in Lago De Chapala (Ajijac-Lake Chapala). A huge lake in the center of Mexico. Mom and Donny rented a FABULOUS house with a pool for us to call home. It was beautiful! And spacious! 3 bedrooms plus a casita!

Ajijac is a small town with a large amount of retiree's from both the US and Canada. Most everyone spoke good english...but we did enjoy the true Mexico feeling here! From Flower and Fruit markets, to authentic restaurants....Lake Chapal had lots to offer!

In the days to come we had alot of fun....riding horses (I didnt), swimming, EATING, shopping, touring around to the other near by towns and more eating!

After about a day or so at the lake, my moms brother (my uncle Manuel, his wife Vicky, their son Danny and his girlfriend) joined us! Manuel and Vicky live full time in Puerto Vallarta now...so Danny and his girlfriend happened to be in town and was up for the 5 hour drive to see the lake! Manuel and Vicky had a TRAILOR full of items (from their recent move to MExico from CA) that they too wanted to donate to the kids and families of grandmas Ranch. So we tok a 3 hour drive further inland to Ojo de Agua (where my maternal grandfather was born) to visit our large and extended family on a 700 (+/-) person village in Guanajuato! Hayden was able to play and meet his 5th and 6th generation cousins! Although the language was not the same,...the playing and interacting of the kids was priceless and they knew exactly what and how to have fun!
