Time to get out of our bed?
Before his new blue racecard bed.......
After :) At last!!!! He picked out his own bed, sheets and comforter :)
baby sprinkle!
June 25th my mom and my great mother in law LeeAnn threw me a baby "Sprinkle". Not a full baby shower...as I didnt need to be showered with gifts, but a sprinkle...where I was simply to be sprinkeled with gifts.
Of course I was showered anyway..not sprinkled. I had so many gifts and was so spoiled. Brody is set with diapers till he is like 4!
There were about 25 of us there, and mainly family and a few friends....
I really didnt want a big deal made :)
Check out my cake! The cake matched the invitation perfectly and we gave mini turtle hand soaps as favors!
The sprinkle was the same day as Andys 35th....so you can see Hayden helping blow out the candle on Andys little turtle cake :) (the mouth of the turtle cake got smudged on the table cloth :()

Andy turns 35!
June 26th Andy turned 35!
A few months prior we attened the LIvermore Art and Wine festival where Andy found an underwater turtle picture that he was smitten with. He took the photographers card, and eventually forgot about it.....you know...life gets in the way.
Well because he stopped at that booth 2 or 3 times, I knew he really liked it. So I told his parents about this picture....and they got it for him! We had them over that evening for cake (dinner out) and gift opening!
He was so excited!
We opened gifts before we went out to dinner (at our newly expanded Livermore Alehouse! ) My mom was here to celeabrate with us too!

4th of July
July 4th was great....Hayden was big enought this year to appreciate the fireworks display that the city of Livermore puts on! After a bbq at our next door neighbors (And Andys BFF) The Roes, our two families loaded into 2 cars and went to a popular hilltop park to see the show!
Granted we had just ate a huge dinner...it was sort of like going to the movies....you have to eat snacks, kettle corn, candy, flammin hot chips and more! YUMM!!
Sorry no photos of the day :(

Mom stays over.....
When the time came to leave Mexico, my mom flew home with me to CA! She was such a HUGE help! The Drubas went to Europe on a fabulous cruise for 2 weeks, so the last week of their vacation...my mom was elated to watch Hayden for us while I got back into the grind of work....
Mom cooked, cleaned and as always was a very easy houseguest.....of course it is still sad everytime she leaves....but we knew it wouldnt be long before she returns. I am determined for her to be in the delivery room for the birth of BRODY! :)

Dono turns the biG 5-0!
Mexico was great, and the biggest celebration while there was for my dad (Donnys) 50th birthday!
It was a great day, great weather, great food and best of all just being together as a family. As corny as it sounds....we are rarely together for birthdays anymore! So to be present was very special for me, and Hayden too!
We enjoyed a great dinner in Ajijac Mexico, at an Argentinian Steak House, followed by a relaxing evening pool side at the house with a dulce de leche cake for dessert. YUMMY!!

Mexico Part 2
The kitchen with the counter tops I loved...
The backyard with the pool...check out the ceilings!
Hayden in the living room.

The band in fron of the church in Ojo De Agua.
The Family House at Ojo de Agua.
On the porch watching the free band provided by the government that evening? !

The Church right in front of the family house....and the bands backdrop.
My grandfather is the Rios.

My grandfather is the Rios. After a great time in Guadalajara, we drove about 45minutes East (ata least i THINK WE WENT EAST?) to set up camp for the next 8 days....in Lago De Chapala (Ajijac-Lake Chapala). A huge lake in the center of Mexico. Mom and Donny rented a FABULOUS house with a pool for us to call home. It was beautiful! And spacious! 3 bedrooms plus a casita!
Ajijac is a small town with a large amount of retiree's from both the US and Canada. Most everyone spoke good english...but we did enjoy the true Mexico feeling here! From Flower and Fruit markets, to authentic restaurants....Lake Chapal had lots to offer!
In the days to come we had alot of fun....riding horses (I didnt), swimming, EATING, shopping, touring around to the other near by towns and more eating!
After about a day or so at the lake, my moms brother (my uncle Manuel, his wife Vicky, their son Danny and his girlfriend) joined us! Manuel and Vicky live full time in Puerto Vallarta now...so Danny and his girlfriend happened to be in town and was up for the 5 hour drive to see the lake! Manuel and Vicky had a TRAILOR full of items (from their recent move to MExico from CA) that they too wanted to donate to the kids and families of grandmas Ranch. So we tok a 3 hour drive further inland to Ojo de Agua (where my maternal grandfather was born) to visit our large and extended family on a 700 (+/-) person village in Guanajuato! Hayden was able to play and meet his 5th and 6th generation cousins! Although the language was not the same,...the playing and interacting of the kids was priceless and they knew exactly what and how to have fun!

Mexico Part 1

Hayden and I joined up with Carmel Grandma and Poppa Don for a getaway into Mexico! We started by flying into Dallas early June.....we spent the night and a day with my parents at their home before the four of us flew to Guadalajara! Both flights went well....Hayden had a portable DVD player, coloring books, reading books and toys to play with...not to mentin his own seat....
Upon arriving to Guadalajara we rented a car...somehow managed to shove all of our luggage in it (We had 2 large suitcases full of kids clothes to give to the kids on my Grandmas ranch-Ojo de Agua) plus our regular luggage :) We easily found our historical hotel "Hotel Molina". It was an absolutley beautiful hotel! It was built hacienda style with a coy pond, restaurant and many other ammenities (including internet-I used ... as I forgot my cell to call home) right in the middle atrium like area! Right across the street from the hotel was the dinner special of the century! 5 AL PASTOR (Pork) tacos and a bottle of soda for $30 pesos....equivilant to $2.50 american! Yes we ate their at least twice...including as breakfast....I love me AL PASTOR ;) After eating dinner we chartered a horse and carriage ride all around the historic city...throughout the downtown areas, ritzy neighborhoods and through the business district. Hayden was thrilled that Grandma thought way ahead and brought two bags of carrots for Hayden to feed our horse after our ride! So far this trip was off to a great start!
The two photos here show the hotel and the carriage ride...notice the bag of carrots with Hayden!

Memorial Day Airplane show!
]
After the deck was finished on Monday (Memorial Day) I took Hayden to our small local, LIvermore Airport for its annual Air Show....
After over 10 years here in LIvermore I had still never been. So it was a treat for us both. THe weather was not too hot that day, and the drive was easy ;)
We didnt realize how long the lines would be to actually get onto each airplane, and besides the occasional small plane coming ang landing....there was not much else to keep a 2.5 year old busy...so lines were difficult....we did manage to see about 2 large planes.....one of which we exited thru the bottom where I presume the luggage would go....and it was a good thing that I was not much further along at the time....because I almost didnt fit in the out door!
I wish I could remember what type of planes they were, and what exactly they were used for....but like I said with a 2.5 year old we were just happy for the cheap entertainment!
New Deck!
We have know for a few years that our old deck was needing replacing.....it was rotting and just plain ugly....so my cousin Vinny (Erma's Son) who is in construction for a living came to the rescue!
He tore the old one down and re-built this beautiful redwood deck for us to enjoy. It was finished memorial weekend...so we have had the whole summer now to enjoy it....BBQ anyone?
