Fair Fun

I entered my "Kentucky Derby Pie" into the all american pie baking contest this year at the County fair.

I have never done this before, and assumed it was all amature and just for fun.

Boy was I wrong.  I got there to find that I was one of about 20 pies...and the cometition was STIFF...some people took this VERY seriously.  In fact some have done this every year for umteen years....

Needless to say, I did not place.  There are three awards for the single shell pies, and 3 additional for a two shell pie.

It was fun though...and I would definitley give it a nother try next year!

We have been anxiously awaiting this event all year!  The National Air Guitar Championships in San Francisco!

"Walima"

Andy's cousin Victoria and her husband Arif recently tied the know, as you likely saw in previous posts...but 6/19 /11 was there indian reception formally called a "walima".

It was beautiful! 

Since my mom was here she got to come too!

And we all borrowed sarees from my cousin Jasmin!  We felt so special!  The food was very interesting!  Brody and I loved it....not so much loved by Andy and Hayden....but we had a great time!

The bride wore the most stunning saree I have ever seen, and it must have weighed a ton! 

The bride and groom sat up on a stage and had a never ending receiving line with formal photos taken with all of thier guests, a poem read, a toast welcoming the bride to the grooms party and a tost from family friends.

What a great and unique experience!

LeeAnns Surgery!

Well LeeAnns hip replacement surgery went well!  It was delayed for two days which was very hard on her...after all she was mentally prepared for a surgery to happen on Monday then to accidently get doble booked abd have to do it on a Wednesday?  BOoo Hiss....

It did work out though....she is recovering well and was back to walking less than a day later!

Birthdays galore!

June is always full of great birthday!  My father in law, RUSTY...my moher in law LEEANN, my dad DON and of course ANDY!

In honor of the in laws birthday we gave them each a ticket to see the Beach Boys in cincert here at my work!! In addition we went to eat a yummy steak for dinner at Izzys chops in san ramon. m'mmmm

Since my mom is here, she also got a ticket as a thank you for coming and caring for the boys :)

For Donny we sent him a great Wente Golf Course shirt and Andy got a new beach cruiser bike...all black with little flaire....just his style ;)

My mother in law had her hip replaced!  AND SHE IS DOING GREAT!!!

Because Leeann is our nanny, and she was having surgery my mom Berta returned to CA with us from Dallas!  She will be here to care for the boys while LeeAnn goes in for surgery and recovers!
