Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
WOW! Another year has gone by, and not without TONS to be thankful for! Hayden turned two this October and he really enjoyed blowing out the candles on his cake! We practiced blowing out candles nightly for about two weeks!
We enjoy him so much, and can’t even imagine life without him! He is a true joy. His personality is really shinning through now! He is so much like his dad, yet so much like me. We are still very blessed that Vanilla Grandma Lee Ann and Poppa Rusty care for him 3x a week! How lucky are we?!
We have lots to “report” for 2009….so here goes:
The day after Christmas (last year) my dad (Pat) got married! He and his new wife Joann are going to be celebrating their 1st anniversary in a few weeks! CONGRATS again!
We had the pleasure of traveling to Texas twice this year! Once for our best buddies wedding in May (Congrats Dave and Elena Crkvenac) which was is San Antonio and again in October (Dallas) for my mom’s great friend’s wedding (Congrats Rose and Tom)….Andy actually introduced Rose and Tom to one another a few years back on one of the trips to Dallas to visit my parents! My parents came down to San Antonio to watch Hayden while Andy and I went to the wedding…..my granny Jo (Donny’s mom) and my aunt Barb both live in S.A. so it worked out beautifully and we even got to connect with a lot of the Shea family one night for dinner!
My mother in law and I experienced the musical Wicked in early February and we liked it so much we returned again November for an encore! I love that show….of course being a huge Wizard of Oz fan as a child it is expected J
We have continued to make visiting zoo’s a hobby! This year we were able to see San Antonio Zoo, Dallas Zoo, San Francisco Zoo, Sacramento Zoo and our all time favorite…Oakland Zoo (Hayden is a regular at the Oakland Zoo!). We pick up an iron on patch at each zoo…and we have a descent collection so far. Eventually we will figure out what to do with them! Ideas?
My mom and dad (Donny) celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this October! They celebrated with an amazing trip to Italy and Austria! Yes, we are totally jealous!
Andy and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this October! We enjoyed a great date night and later in the month we had professional family pictures taken back at the Carmel Mission, where we tied the knot! Yes that is where this pic was taken!
I have taken on the board position of Advertising for a local club here in Livermore called Livermore Moms! I enjoy everything the club offers but I have also met some great new friends! Andy continues to be an avid 49er fan and he also continues to dominate in both of his fantasy leagues! I see that trophy making its way back to our mantel again!
Life is great, we are excited to see what the future holds and look forward to ringing in 2010!
We wish you each a joyous Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year!
Love,
THE DRUBA’S
Heather, Andrew, Hayden…..Rhodie and Mikki Too!

San Francisco

Last weekend we went to San Francisco to see the lights, the huge tree the Macy's window with the kittens and puppies etc...

We had a such a great time! The hotel was great too! http://www.jdvhotels.com/adagio/?cid=gl_adg... we were so bundeled up for the cold weather and it turned out to be warmer in SF than closer to home in Livermore!

We went to eat a casual dinner at http://maxsworld.com/ and it was perfect for hayden...he was able to be loud although he was real hungry and ate great that night!

We ended the night with a nice tall glass of beer and chocolate ice cream :)

The next morning we had breakfast delivered to the room and listened to christmas carols...waiting for hayden to wake up.......

Building a fire!

Decked out in Niner faithful gear, the boys build a fire for us all to enjoy!

Bass Pro Shop

Today Rusty and Lee Ann are taking hayden to The Bass Pro Shop!
Its basically a huge monster store that is for fishers, hunters, boaters etc.... (Andy and I have been to the one in Dallas). http://www.basspro.com/homepage.html?CMID=&cm_mmc=&cm_guid=&hvarAID=&hvarEID=&cm_ven=&cm_cat=&cm_pla=&cm_ite=
They say that the Christmas Decorations in this store are jaw dropping....so of course in true bass pro spirit....I dressed Hayden in his finest gear!

Dickens fair!

LeeAnn, Hayden and I went to the Cow Palace last weekend for a really cool Dicekns Fair! It was alot of fun....I have never been to anything likt it....not even a Renaissance fair!

I really had no idea what to expect....but now that I have been and loved it....I think it will be an annual tradition?!

Check out the website! http://www.dickensfair.com/

Here are a few photos of us at Haydens favorite part .... the band.

Xanthus' 2nd Birthday party!

Yeah! Finally a birthday party on a Sunday....that means I actually get to go!

Haydens friend from playgroup had his party at the local indoor soccer center! It was really great!

All the kids enjoyed it, and us parents loved the fact that when we left it was NAP time :)
Here are some photos! My favorite is the one of him laying on his stomach holding on to his ankles....it is funny because this is what he was doing while the rest of the kids were listening to the instructions for the next game....thats the Andy in him ;)

4th attempt.......

OK so our first 3 trys failed...so what if I bring Haydens best lady friend Katie with us?

We got dressed and drove to the Pleasanton mall, katie and beefed up the whole santa thing on the drive down while singing Christmas songs...so I thought this was going to work! When we got there....Katie took her turn....fabulous...she told him about the Pound Puppy that she wants....then it was haydens turn....

NOPE!

He was so scared he just cried and cried....

He did fine IF I was with him, but not good if it were just him and katie and especially him ALONE!

In the end, I was over it....so the 3 of us jumped on santas lap and took a group photo. I think it will be quite funny telling the story of why there are three of us in this years photo!

After the hard work we ended the mission by dropping off 85 signed christmas cards to be sent over to our troops, and then we went for pizza! (That is not beer...apple juice)
